We had to carry out a risk assesment before doing anything. We had to wear safety boots incase he board was dropped onto our feet and goggles from the dust off the boards.

Bricks

First of all we had to carry out a risk assesment then the task was to carry six bricks stacked in jenga style from the car park area to the minibus which is parked in the car park then walk them back to the pallet and stack them neatly. This was to see if we could carry the bricks properly. We had to wear steel toe capped boots incase the bricks dropped onto our feet, gloves to protect our hands from the sharp edges on the bricks and saftey goggles to protect our eyes incase we dropped the bricks and peiceses flew off into our eyes.

The task was to carry two pots of paint from one room to the workshop then stacked them neatly in there then took them back into the room we got them from and stacked them properly. The PPE was to wear safety boots to protect our toe's from dropping the tub of paint onto our feet and goggles to protect our eyes from the paint tub splitting and splashing intoour eyes.

Blocks

First of all we had to carry out a risk assesment on eachother. Then the task was to put four concrete blocks in a wheel barrow and push them up the hill from the car park area to the second bump on the hill and back down again to the car park area where we stacked them back on the pile neatly. There only a few hazards such as the road for traffic and the blocks falling out of the wheel barrow onto our toes thats why safety boots are worn. The task was to see how our ballance was with materials in a wheel barrow.
The PPE is safety boots to protect our toes from the blocks, gloves to to protect our hands from the sharp edges on the blocks and goggles to protect out eyes from bits off the blocks flying into our eyes if they are dropped.

Timber

First of all we had to carry out a risk assesment on each other. The task was to carry a length of timber from one workshop to another. We had to balance the length of timber on our shoulder and use our hand to secure it. Then we walked it back to the stacking area and stacked it correctly and safely. While carrying  it we had to keep an eye for other people behind us and in front of us.
The PPE was Gloves to protect our hands from the chemicals in the treated timber, Steel toe cap boots to protect our toe's incase the timber is dropped on to our feet and safety goggles to protect our eyes from splinters.
